OpenSAP reaches milestone

Launched in 2013, OpenSAP's goal was to help individuals become familiar with the SAP software landscape and acquire the necessary skills. OpenSAP is hosted and operated by the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), which is headed by Christoph Meinel.
The long-standing and close cooperation with HPI is the basis for a successful joint development. "Nowadays it is important to create a learning environment that is accessible to all" said Professor Hasso Plattner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SAP. "With the pandemic that has led to changes in all aspects of life, forcing many to telecommute and learn at a distance, it's more important than ever to keep barriers to access to basic knowledge low and provide learners with the right tools and resources to continue building their skills."
In the past three years, the number of course enrollments on the online learning platform has doubled. The roughly 250 different courses record an average of 20,000 enrollments per course, which equates to a total of 1.2 million learners.
Training courses on innovations and current topics such as S/4 Hana, Business Technology Platform, intelligent integration, digital transformation and machine learning are currently in high demand. But older courses are also still relevant and continue to attract new participants.
